Week four! Moving on from last week, I looked at the past few weeks and decided that this storybook idea was my strongest concept because I brought through a few pieces I had learnt and generated myself from all the work I produced over the past 4 weeks.

I organised my objects in alphabetical order as there is something quite child-like about it. In addition this concept of categorising the chaos, was really satisfying to do. I wanted to make the book have a purpose, the challenge was reading the sentences, which are quite tricky to read aloud and/or quickly. I also developed the front and back cover, which gave it a finished look. I would say this is my interpretation and I’ve exhibited my items around the theme of children storybooks and rhymes.

Mock up Design

I chose a hard back copy, primarily because it was the only free mock up I could find. It does make it look more commercial. I do feel however I like the idea of it being 'handcrafted'; hand sewn, like last weeks design. Something, when I have the time and recourses, I could do myself. I'd just like to get my hands on and feel the textures and the illustrations up close. That could be the paperback version, limited edition maybe?
